At 9 am our guide awaits us with the e-bikes in the park Mariana Grajales, calle 23 / entre C y D, La Habana / Vedado, named after the mother of the revolution´s hero General Officer Antonio Maceo (1845-1896). As an alternative, an individual meeting point can be settled for closed groups. After a short introduction to the e-bikes, client’s bike adjustments to each individual height and some general information about the roads and rules of Cuban traffic, we are ready to begin our discovery-trip with the e-bikes. As you will quickly notice, the means of transportation in Cuba are different from what we are used to.

Today, we will cross the water with our e-bikes to get to an almost forgotten part of the vibrant Metropolis, the center of Santeria and former slave trade. The eastern part of the bay has maintained its charm and originality, and is rarely visited by tourists as many do not even know how to reach there. Be ready for another exceptional adventure on our unusual routes!

This route will fill in with impressions of the authentic Cuban daily life. A dive into the world of Santeria, which was imported with the African slaves. At the same time you will learn how the metropolis was built to defend itself against foreign attacks in the past. At the other side of La Habana huge parts of history are well preserved. Stops at some of the most famous places and also unknown spots, will be, of course, an essential part of this journey.

Biking to La Rampa, passing the former Hilton Hotel which was renamed “Habana Libre” shortly after the Revolution, along the “Hotel Nacional”, were the mafia felt at home, we reach the Malecón - as many peoples say: the most beautiful promenade in the world. Heading towards Havana´s ferry terminal where we take “La Lanchita”, a ferry which is almost exclusively used by Cubans. This ferry will carry us to the other side of the bay. Before heading to Guanabacoa we will visit the church of “Nuestra Señora de Regla”. In Guanabacoa, we will see Cuba´s oldest car and learn more about Santeria. The experiences we will gather on our way along the bay towards El Christo, will remain unforgotten.

Cojimar, at the east coast, must not be missed on our trip - this fishermen village was often frequented by Hemingway. El Cristo is waiting for us, with an unparalleled and unique view at La Habana. We have the opportunity to visit la Comandancia del Ché with its original furniture, in the Fortaleza San Carlos de la Cabaña and the Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro before ferrying back to the other side of the bay.

Of course, that day you will be supplied with minerals, vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates, liquids, and etcetera. - Where? - This depends on our pedaling speed and the time you spend at the places of interest.  If we have lunch at the eastern side of the bay, you can try a curry sausage according to the German recipe or taste the typical Cuban food. If we cross the bay early, thanks to our “velocity of pedaling”, we can also fill our belly with delicious culinary food. After returning to the city, we cycle through Habana Vieja, visit some historical places on our way towards Malecón and finally reach our starting point.
