We will spend one week together to conquer 5 of the 10 most exciting cities in Cuba with our electric bikes. The “Giga Trip” will start and finish in Havana. It is important for you to know that we will be covering the distances between each of these Caribbean cities by car, carrying our bikes with us in the trailer. Nevertheless, we will be biking between 30 - 70 km a day, depending on the characteristic of each place. Enjoy 7 nights with breakfast in authentic “casas particulares” and 6 fascinating city day trips!
On the eve of our first day tour through Havana, you will arrive at your casa particular (also known as bed and breakfast in Havana). At 09:00 am the next morning, your tour guide will be waiting for you at your accommodation with his e-bike. From there we go together to pick up the bikes (Optionally, an individual meeting place can be arranged with us for closed groups). After a short introduction to the e-bikes, client’s bike adjustments to each individual height and some general information about the roads and rules of Cuban traffic, we are ready to begin our Caribbean cities discovery-tour.
1st day tour
We start our first day tour in Havana with our classic tour "One day in Havana". It contains all the main highlights of Cuba's capital, as well as many lesser-known treasures, hidden in the city. You can find the details of this first day trip on our website. Look into our “day tours” and click on the button "One day in Havana" or just let yourself be surprised, because our reviews on Tripadvisor speak for themselves. We spend the night in the same casa in Havana before leaving to Pinar del Rio, early morning the next day.
2nd day tour
Our bikes are already on the trailer and we start our day at 8 o'clock in the morning from Havana, heading to Pinar del Rio, only with the necessary baggage. Arriving the largest city in western Cuba, we take out our bikes, the luggage stays in the car to continue to Viñales, where we´ll spend the next night in a casa particular. We´ll start then our Pinar del Rio discovery tour. The town is also known as "The city of the columns", it´s particular architecture can be seen during our tour. We are in the capital of the province of the former tobacco barons, which is also seen on the way to Viñales. Today, apart from the city life, we will also get in touch with the country life more intensively, because the way from Pinar to Viñales is characterized by small villages and serpentine roads, which will challenge us and perhaps make us more curious about this Cuban region, which is not so touristic. This approximately 30 km long route will be a breathtaking contrast to our otherwise more urban city trips. Once in Viñales, we head to our casa, to enjoy a dinner with lobster, fish, roast pork or whatever you are looking for. Then it’s time to rest, because we just have 2 of 6 day tours passed, and, please, do not forget to charge the battery ;-)
3rd day tour
We start the day as we do every day, with a breakfast, but today without loading our “loyal companions”, the e-bikes, to the trailer, because today we are conquering the Viñales Valley. Our breath will be taken away, but not for the altitude, but for the view of this unique landscape. The details of the Viñales tour can be found on our website: Fullday trips – One Day in Viñales. After driving around the Mogotes, visiting a tobacco farm and admiring the “Mural de la Prehistoria”, we head back to Havana. In the evening we return to our casa particular, where you stayed the first nights, to start the next day another tour in Havana.
4th day tour
After breakfast, we will be traveling through Havana, to go to the “Playas del Este”, the beaches from Havana. Surely you want to see the sea and maybe go for swimming. On the way you’ll get in touch with the authentic Cuba. As usual, you can find the details of this tour on our website: Fullday Trips -Vamos a la Playa. Please do not forget your swimwear and all the necessary stuff to spend a day on the beach, because the support vehicle will be available only late night, to take us to Cienfuegos, where we´ll spend the next night.
5th day tour
Once in Cienfuegos, we should also travel over this French influenced city with our cool bikes. After having breakfast together, we start through this, perhaps cleanest city in Cuba, with the largest sugar cane port in the world. That Cienfuegos used to be a really rich city it can be recognized easily by the magnificent buildings and spacious avenues. You can find the details of this trip on our website: Fullday Trips - One Day in Cienfuegos. In the late afternoon we our way along the coast heads us to Trinidad, where we´ll arrive our next accommodation. During our dinner, we´ll have the opportunity to exchange our impressions about the largest Caribbean island.
6th day tour
One day Trinidad intense. We´ll explore with our e-bikes one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Cuba. On cobblestones, between horse-drawn carriages, colorful little houses with red tiled roofs and pastel-colored palaces, we immerse into the time of explorers, pirates, slaves and sugar barons, into the history of Trinidad. On the back of our electric bikes, we can feel the former preference of the plantation barons, to less discreet luxury. Of course, we will visit the beaches of Trinidad to perhaps meet while drinking a Caribbean cocktail, the Pirates of the Caribbean in our mind. Trinidad will definitely impress you. For more details, please, check, again, our website: Fullday Trips - One Day in Trinidad. We also spend this night in Trinidad. And on this last evening of our tour, we´ll have some time to share the impressions of the last week, to exchange fotos or mail addresses to keep in our memories this unique and special trip, while having some bears, cocktails or softdrinks.
The 7th day of our tour is marked by a breakfast, followed by the return to Havana. Or you have planned a beach extension somewhere in Cuba, so you will be heading from Trinidad directly to your next destination. Maybe we'll meet again on one of our many e-bike city trips or on our "Cross through Cuba tours", to justifiably state that you have experienced the largest island of the Caribbean in a really special, intense and authentic way.
